Dr. Dean’s PhD thesis was titled “Endogenous Neural Excitation and Inhibition and the Evolution of Preterm Brain Injury”. Dr. Dean is presently a Post-doctoral research fellow in fields related to neuroscience. He has experience in large animal and fetal surgery techniques, including catheter and electrode placement and animal post-mortem and dissections, and in stereotaxic placement of microdialysis and laser Doppler probes. Dr. Mosi’s PhD studies involved the mechanism of reaction of two alpha glycosyltransferases, glycogen phosphorylase and cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase, through the use of modified substrates and inhibitors. Dr. McGowan has won many awards during his career including in 2003 the EU Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship. He has worked in laboratories investigating the molecular mechanisms in Parkinson's disease as well as those involved in Huntington's disease, combining laser micro-dissection, microarray analysis and proteomics. Further study involved micro-array gene expression analysis of molecular processes occurring during normal ageing and how these are affected by mental exercise. In 1996/7 Dr. Wright was a Postdoctoral Fellow at The University of Tokyo, Japan, investigating novel catalytic pathways capable of generating ammonia under milder conditions than presently used in industry. As well as working for Edanz editing, Dr. Wright, now based in the UK, continues as a research scientist in the field of bionanosensors.

Ms Victor is currently a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) candidate in Medical Genome Sciences, at Tokyo University and is working on a novel diagnostic tool for the rapid detection of respiratory and intestinal pathogens in pediatric patients. Ms Victor has a working knowledge of most laboratory techniques such as Primer design, Restriction enzyme digests, PAGE, PCR & RT-PCR, Neuraminidase and Hemagglutinin typing, Affinity HPLC, SDS-PAGE and Gel Electrophoresis. Her interest lies in the field of Bio-entrepreneurship and has experience in both the academic and commercial aspects of Science. Ms Victor began as an editor with Edanz Editing and Liwen Bianji (Edanz Editing China) in 2008.

Dr Wadsworth's scientific background is pharmacology/microbiology with a background in both basic and clinical research. Dr Wadsworth worked in areas of basic research at Temple University Hospital, Section of Infectious Diseases, as well as working on a clinical protocol and grant for the study of antibiotics on mitochondrial protein synthesis. Dr. Wadsworth's technical skills include fluorescence technology, microbiological and molecular biological techniques, sub-cellular fractionation and immunological techniques. She has written 20 peer reviewed articles, and prepared clinical protocols and informed consents for clinical trials. Dr Wadsworth began working as an editor for the Edanz Group in 2009.

Her work has focused on neuroanatomy and the pathology of degenerative disease, as well experimental approaches to uncovering disease mechanisms. She currently works as a research assistant in the department of Ophthalmology at the University of Auckland. Ms. Eady, though a young scientist, is already the co author of several articles in the fields of neuroscience and ophthalmology. Ms. Eady began working as an editor for the Edanz Group in 2008.
