James Buxton

Academic Background: Mr Buxton’s studies were in the Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences. From these studies he published a paper titled “Amphidromic Movement and Tidal Distortion in the English Channel.” After a period of research at Lancaster University, where he worked on improving the performance of weather radar (UK), he moved into the field of operational meteorology, in which he worked as a forecaster for over 20 years in the UK, Bermuda, and several countries in Europe.

Publishing History: Mr Buxton coauthored an article on amphidromic movement and tidal distortion in the English Channel that was published in The Hydrographic Journal.

Editing and Reviewing Experience: In his capacity as a full-time editor, Mr Buxton has edited hundreds of documents for non-native English-speaking authors in his fields of expertise. He joined Edanz as an editor in 2012.
