Helen Roberton

Ms Roberton is a former chief editor of the international, MEDLINE-indexed journal Drug Safety. Her editorial roles entailed detailed technical editing of manuscripts across a range of therapeutic areas. Having been the editor of an international journal, she has a professional understanding of the whole publication process and knows what editors look for when deciding to accept a manuscript for publication. Most recently, Miss Roberton worked for a publishing and events company in London, where she was editor of two journals in the fields of diabetes and obesity targeted at primary-care healthcare professionals. Before working in the STM publishing industry, Miss Roberton held laboratory research posts including at the Oxford University Nuffield Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences with a group studying lymphoid neoplasms, and producing and characterizing antibodies specific to leukocyte associated proteins. Techniques used included immunohistochemistry of frozen and paraffin embedded material, double enzymatic and immunofluorescent staining, western blotting, immunopurification, cell culture, transfection and in-vitro 35S metabolic labeling. Miss Roberton edits in the fields of pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacovigilance and pharmaceutical drug safety across all therapeutic areas, with a special interest in diabetes and obesity. She joined the Edanz Group as an editor in 2013.
