Huw Tyson

Academic Background Dr Tyson had a research career in plant and microbial biology for 20 years. He has held positions at universities in the UK and USA, in industry, and at a UK government agricultural research institute. His research topics included carbohydrate metabolism (photosynthesis and plant storage compounds), nitrogen and sulfur metabolism, and plant-microbial interactions; he worked on several major crop species as well as model systems. He then moved into science administration and strategy development, working for 15 years for a UK research council (government science funding agency) for biological sciences. He has gained wide experience of the peer review process and further developed his expertise in writing, editing, and proofreading a variety of documents.
