Lisa Oberding

Ms Oberding has over 15 years of experience working in the fields of medical and environmental microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, and synthetic biology. She has been involved in both the academic and industrial sector, having co-founded and directed a biosensor development company (FREDsense Technologies) where she was Head of Biological Development and Manufacturing. She has multiple years of experience writing both academic papers as well as grants and proposals for academic, public, and investor audiences. Additionally, Ms Oberding has a strong background in data science and manipulation. She also has multiple years of graphic design experience for both investor and customer-facing documents as well as posters, presentations, and publications in academia. Additionally, she has written multiple successful million-dollar grants for a variety of funding organizations. Ms Oberding has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed articles in journals including Nature Scientific Methods, ACS Synthetic Biology, Microbiology, Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, the American Journal of Infection Control, the International Journal of Infectious Diseases, the American Journal of Transplantation, and Applied and Environmental Microbiology. She has presented at numerous international conferences, and she has won numerous business plan competitions and pitches for her synthetic biology start-up company. Ms Oberding has over 10 years of experience professionally editing scientific manuscripts, business plans, presentations, posters, and grants across multiple fields, with a focus on microbiology, medicine, surgery, biotechnology, biochemistry, and environmental sciences. She is adept at editing for scientific literacy, grammatical accuracy, logical flow, and conciseness. She has also edited manuscripts and theses for multiple graduate students. Ms Oberding joined Edanz as an Editor and Medical Writer in 2023.
