Amy Capes

Dr Capes has a PhD in medicinal chemistry and a BSc (Hons) in chemistry; a BA in computer arts complements her scientific knowledge with an artistic and technological background. She has experience in working in organic chemistry, biochemistry, molecular parasitology, drug discovery, forensic chemistry, food chemistry, computational chemistry, and infectious disease, specifically African sleeping sickness. Dr Capes has authored five peer-reviewed papers in journals including Organic Letters, Carbohydrate Research, and Tetrahedron Letters.Dr Capes has 13 years’ experience in scientific editing for agencies and private clients. She has a broad range of experience editing various types of materials, including papers, posters, slide decks, and presentations, across diverse fields of scientific research. Dr Capes joined Edanz as an Editor in 2023.Dr Capes has written articles for websites, rewrites journal articles for clients, and won the MRC Max Perutz Science Writing Award in 2011.
