Jenna MacArthur

Dr MacArthur is an applied physiologist specializing in muscle physiology and lipid sciences. Her training included cell signaling pathways, cholesterol transport, and diabetes research in cell and animal models. Specifically, as a graduate student, she examined the effects of oxidative stress and aging on skeletal muscle function. During her post-doctoral fellowship, she characterized the function of the protein CGI-58/ABHD5 using transgenic and tissue-specific knockout mice and cell culture experiments. She has published original research articles and invited reviews in high-impact journals. Dr MacArthur has 12 years of experience as an Academic Editor in the life sciences and clinical medicine fields. She is knowledgeable in human and animal physiology, cell and molecular biology, cell metabolism, genetics, immunology, gastroenterology, epidemiology, cancer biology, and nutrition. Dr MacArthur has coauthored approximately 20 peer-reviewed papers in journals including American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Annual Review of Physiology, and Diabetes, and Cell Reports.
