Tara de Queiroz

Academic Background: Dr de Queiroz has over 20 years’ experience conducting field research and authoring and co-authoring journal articles, writing successful grant proposals, and reviewing academic papers. Her most recent research project documents the presence of a long-term seed bank in a rare desert plant, and was published in Ecology and Evolution. She has expertise in plant ecology, environmental science, evolutionary biology, conservation biology, ecological restoration, wildland fire science, invasive species biology, ecological and demographic modeling, climate change, land use planning, endangered species assessment, marine biology, lichenology, and rare plant biology. She also has experience doing ecological and demographic modeling, as well as editing in public health.

Publishing History: Dr de Queiroz has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed papers and has published as first author in journals including Oecologia, Evolution, and American Journal of Botany. She has been an invited speaker at the Society for Ecological Restoration annual meeting and the Society for Range Management annual meeting and has presented her research at meetings of the Botanical Society of America, the Ecological Society of America, and the Society for Ecological Restoration.

Editing and Reviewing Experience: Dr de Queiroz is a BELS-certified editor and has edited books for the American Public Health Association Press and public-facing documents for the School of Public Health at the University of Nevada. She also edits dissertations and scientific papers for clients around the world. She is adept at editing for clarity and flow in scientific works. She has also been a reviewer for Ecology, Oecologia, Ecological Monographs, Oikos, American Journal of Botany, Conservation Biology, Evolutionary Ecology, Restoration Ecology, Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research, Seed Science Research, Ecological Research, Rangeland Ecology and Management, Ecography, and the Journal of Vegetation Science. Dr de Queiroz joined Edanz as an Editor in 2024.
